Scott's Take
Langes Estate is one of my favourite wineries. They recently opened up a new cellar door in Frankland River town, but I used to come up to Chelsea and Kim's house to taste their amazing wines.
The amazing terroir helps create amazing bright and fruity wines. All their reds have bursting red and black fruit character. Their Chardonnay is my favourite wine, being well oaked and oozing with stone fruit intensity. They have an amazing selection of wines at a steal of a price. I highly recommend snapping up some wines now before prices increase as I strongly believe they are massivly undervalued.

About Langes Estate
The Lange family’s agricultural heritage spans five generations in rural Western Australia. This tradition thrives in Frankland River, where the Lange’s vineyard took root in 1997 under the stewardship of the family. Today, Kim and Chelsea, their children Jack, Ella and Dylan, alongside Don and Maxine, oversee the vineyard’s operations.
Nestled in the picturesque Frankland River wine region within the Great Southern area, our vineyard flourished amidst landscapes renowned for producing premium-quality fruit, particularly Shiraz and Riesling. Situated at an elevation of nearly 300m, a rarity in Western Australia’s viticultural landscape, and blessed with red jarrah gravel loam soils, our vineyard yields wines of exceptional intensity.

Terroir and Winemaking
Frankland River, a prominent sub-region of Western Australia, lies inland from the Southern Ocean coast, approximately 185km southeast of Perth and 185km east of Margaret River. Boasting nearly 2025 hectares of vineyards, Frankland River stands as the most prolific of the Great Southern sub-regions. Named after the river that courses through it, Frankland River’s diverse soils and topography, featuring significant alluvial plains and valleys with mixed clays and gravels, contribute to its viticultural richness.
Located within convenient reach of key Western Australian locales, including Albany, Nannup, Pemberton, Denmark, Mount Barker and Bridgetown, Frankland River emerges as a premier destination for wine enthusiasts and travellers alike.
